Periodontology

An important branch of dentistry.

Periodontology deals with gingival disorders, such as gingivitis or periodontitis. More specifically, specialized in diagnosing and treating diseases that affect the gingiva and supporting tissues of the tooth (bone, periodontal ligaments, cement) always drawing attention to the importance of proper dental hygiene.

A specialist in periodontology will take care to detect the gum disease early so that surgery together with expensive treatments are not required.

If left untreated, the gum disease (periodontitis) can lead to tooth loss. Completed periodontal therapy is professionally cared for in the long term. This can reduce the possible risk of (further) tooth loss.

Periodontal disease can be identified by inflammation and redness of the soft tissues surrounding the tooth (gingiva). In more advanced stages, these symptoms are accompanied by persistent unpleasant breath smell, bleeding during brushing, gums feel sensitive, gingival retraction, exposed tooth necks or your gums are actually shrunk, increases movable teeth or  pain during mastication, destabilizing the tooth on the arch and losing it.

Of course, if dental hygiene was not performed properly early diagnosis is not possible which, thus, requires complex interventions. The latter, in order to prove their effectiveness, must not only be performed by a highly experienced dentist, but also be performed in a modern clinic, where you can find the latest equipment and where high-quality services are provided.

The visit to the dental office for the regular prophylaxis meeting is recommended to be made every 6 months.
